Kathleen Kerr

CAPAA Technical Theatre Instructor
Kathleen is a passionate educator dedicated to creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences that encourage creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. She believes that students learn best through hands-on exploration and meaningful opportunities to express their ideas through both traditional and emerging forms of art and design.
She earned her BFA in Technical Theatre and Design from Western Kentucky University, where she developed a strong foundation in both creative practice and education. Throughout her career, Kathleen has focused on fostering inclusive classroom environments that empower students to build confidence, collaborate with others, and take ownership of their learning.
Around the Arts Center, you will find Kathleen painting sets, teaching the technical theatre branch of CAPAA, stage managing one of the high school theatre productions and generally covered in a combination of paint and sawdust.
